Advice On Puppies
When purchasing a dog or a puppy pay attention to the following points:
  1. Take your time! Don’t buy a “family member” like a product!
Keep in mind that you may share fifteen years together.
  2. The breeder should breed and sell only one race, own few breeding animals himself/herself who must never have more than two litters at the same time. After all, the beginning of the dog’s socialization should be used intensively which is only possible if there’s a limited number of puppies!
  3. There should be no kennel keeping!
  4. A responsible breeder will proudly present all of his/her property as well as all the dogs living there. Don’t be satisfied if the breeder only presents single puppies to you.
  5. The place of breeding must be clean and free of odor. The dogs must leave a clean and well kept impression. It is also imperative that all dogs appear open and happy. Be wary of timid mothers and puppies.
  6. Mothers and puppies are together. Control if necessary that the animal presented as the mother of the puppies shows swollen mammary glands!
  7. It is important to see a health certificate issued by a vet, the proof of a parasite prevention treatment as well as the dog’s vaccination document with listed vaccinations.
  8. See the pedigree and the breeding permit of both parents as well as the litter control report.
  9. Keep the date of the litter in mind, the puppies should be at least eight weeks old.
  10. Remember at all times that pity is a bad advisor when purchasing a puppy. People are going to stop the "production" of puppies in a miserable kennel only if no puppy will be purchased any longer.
